> Bruce Biewald Mr. Biewald has co-authored more than one hundred reports, including studies for the Electric Power Research Institute, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Office of Technology Assessment, the New England Governors' Conference, the New England Conference of Public Utility Commissioners, the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Mr. Biewald's papers have been published in the Electricity Journal, Energy Journal, Energy Policy, Public Utilities Fortnightly, and numerous conference proceedings. Mr. Biewald's recent work includes consulting on electric industry restructuring, stranded costs, system benefits, market power, mergers and acquisitions, generation asset valuation and divestiture, power plant costs and performance, renewable resources, power supply contracts and performance standards, green marketing of electricity, environmental disclosure, nuclear plant decommissioning and radioactive waste issues, climate change policy, environmental externalities valuation, energy conservation and demand-side management, electric power system reliability, and electricity market simulation modeling for price forecasting and market power analysis. Mr. Biewald's recent projects include consulting to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the Federal Trade Commission. Prior to founding Synapse, Mr. Biewald was with Energy Systems Research Group
(later Tellus Institute) where he consulted on a wide range of electric system
regulatory and economic issues. Mr. Biewald studied architecture and building
technology at MIT. |
