Sarah Jackson
Sarah Jackson recently joined Synapse Energy Economics as an Associate. For
the last six years, she has served as a Research and Policy Analyst for Earthjustice,
a non-profit public interest law firm focused on protecting natural resources.
In this position she conducted extensive analysis of federal, state, and local
regulations, policies, and environmental planning documents in support of clean
air and climate change campaigns. Ms. Jackson's experience includes acting as
an advocate at public hearings with regard to proposed policies or regulatory
actions, and serving as a Steering Committee Member and the Chair of the Watchdog
Committee for the Central Valley Air Quality Coalition in California's Central
Valley. In these capacities, Ms. Jackson managed and set priorities for a diverse
coalition of more than 75 community, public health, environmental, and environmental
justice organizations and individuals; helped develop a strategic plan for advancing
policy priorities; analyzed regulatory and legislative activities affecting
air quality in California's polluted Central Valley; and coordinated with technical
consultants on complex regional air pollution clean-up plans, among other duties.
Prior to joining Earthjustice, Ms. Jackson worked as a Land Use Paralegal
for Kopelman & Paige, P.C., in Boston. There, she performed legal research
on subjects such as wetlands protection, coastal management, and the legality
of municipal bylaws. She also served as an Energy Program Intern with the New
Hampshire Governor's Office of Energy and Community Services, where she
assisted in the research and organizational stages of drafting a State Energy
Plan, and supported special projects related to energy efficiency and renewable
energy.
Ms. Jackson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Environmental Studies
from Mount Holyoke College, and a Master of Environmental Law and Policy from
Vermont Law School.
