Lauri Mancinelli


Lauri Mancinelli is a research associate at Synapse Energy Economics. She performs consulting, conducts research and analysis, and contributes to testimony and reports on a wide range of issues including the consumer impacts of cap-and-trade policies, smart-meter integration, transmission system upgrades, and standard offer supply procurement. Her recent project work includes applying financial cash flow and discounting methods in the valuation of a hydroelectric facility and assisting in advising the Vermont state legislature on issues related to the relicensing of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station.

Prior to joining Synapse, Ms. Mancinelli was an associate at an economic and business consulting firm where she analyzed electric sector business strategy with respect to proposed environmental regulation. She also worked for the U.S. EPA Atmospheric Protection Branch, modeling long-term energy technology choices and associated emissions. Ms. Mancinelli has also worked at NERA Economic Consulting, where she performed research and analysis pertaining to antitrust litigation, and for Public Consulting Group, where she provided management consulting services to public school districts.

Ms. Mancinelli holds a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in German from Bates College.
