Synapse was engaged by the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs to explore options for Duke Energy Progress' incurred coal combustion residual removal costs, related to both basin closures and basins at active coal power plants. Synapse provided calculations to demonstrate the ratepayer impact of cost recovery options for which Duke Energy Progress requested regulatory asset treatment.
