Synapse filed evidence reviewing Nova Scotia Power Inc.'s (NSPI) 2025 Load Forecast Report, evaluating the methodology and assumptions underlying NSPI's projections of energy sales and peak load. Synapse assessed the forecast's three core components: the Statistically Adjusted End-Use (SAE) model, demand-side management (DSM) adjustments, and other customer growth and program-specific adjustments. Synapse found that the 2025 forecast reflects continued improvement in expository quality and is more conservative than the prior year, with growth in electric vehicle adoption and the Renewable to Retail market tempering projected increases in energy sales and peak demand relative to the 2024 forecast.
