Technical Advising and Regulatory Guidance for City of Cambridge's Building Performance Standard

On behalf of the City of Cambridge, Synapse provided regulatory guidance and support for the implementation of the City's building performance standard, the Building Energy Use Disclosure Ordinance (BEUDO). Synapse assisted the City with finalizing emissions factors and associated methods for combustion fuels, co-generation facilities, and grid electricity. A key part of this work included conducting numerous stakeholder meetings and educational webinars. Additionally, Synapse developed guidance for BEUDO-required verification of data reported by building owners; this work involved reviewing and synthesizing best practices from jurisdictions throughout the United States that have implemented building performance standards.
