On behalf of the Sierra Club, Synapse modeled the benefits of a cleaner transportation system and the amount of charging infrastructure needed to support it. Using Synapse's in-house EV-REDI tool, we analyzed a baseline scenario and a scenario aligned with the Governor's electric vehicle sales goal for 2030. In both cases, we found a need to rapidly build out charging infrastructure over the next decade and we calculated the extensive climate, public health, and economic benefits that a transition to cleaner transportation can bring to North Carolina.
